This piece is a feasibility study I conducted on the sustainable restoration of the Dalkieth Orangery in Scotland. The Orangery itself is a conservatory that is located in Scotland on the Dalkeith Estate; with rich history dating back to the fourteen hundreds. Currently, the estate is leased to the University of Wisconsin system, and is used year round as a study abroad program for college students. This paper provides a brief historical background of the orangery and estate. Additionally, focusing on some feasible ways to restore the organery to a sustainable state. Lastly, it discusses the possitive effects of a sustainably restored orangery on both the students and community of Dalkeith.

While this piece starts by addressing general facts regarding mud volcanoes, its main purpose is to discuss the environmental implications of Lusi’s eruption leading to the Sidoarjo Mud Flow in East Java, Indonesia. Additionally, it examines hydraulic fracturing as being one of the main contributors to the eruption. Furthermore, it speaks to the socio-economic issues that stemmed from the hydro-chemicals entering into the water sources, which then opens the door to water quality issues and policies as well as social issues pertaining to fisheries and ecosystems.
This piece examines the locavore movement throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
Although this was inspired by true events, this is a sample of nature writing in a fictional form. Personally, I think it is one of my best pieces that fit under the umbrella of environmental fiction. This story of the Dalkeith Estate, provides vivid imagery of both objects and personal connections to place.
